Default Raced it today

OK - I raced the Spektrum in a 3PK and in a REVO, XXNT, and a Mayhem. The REVO performed flawlessly! I cannot say the same for the Mayhem and the XXXNT. They both would stop working on the bakstretch at times (about 100 to 150 feet away). Luckily, the LHS had another system in stock and we did some testing - they let me try another module in the 3PK and the Mayhem only "quit" one other time on the backstretch. The XXXNT still had issues - cannot explain it. Another racer was using his M8 and Spektrum and he had no issues/problems....

Has anyone had these types of problems with the 3PK system? I know I read earlier in th is thread that someone was having Range type issues - any help is appreciated - also planning on calling Horizon Monday......

I just ran my 3pk Spektrum today. Indoor carpet with foams. Futaba 9550 servo. KO VFS1 Pro ESC. Stock class. EvoIV. Worked pretty good. Normally I ran the 3pk in HRS mode. The Spektrum didn't feel any slower at all.

It felt really weird though driving without a normal antenna. I kept reaching to raise up my antenna.

Only problem I did have today, and I wasn't too sure what it was.. but I got flipped over in the last turn and the car rolled around and landed back on the wheels, but the car was dead. No steering, no nothing. Transponder light was on. Spektrum light was off. ESC light was on. But nothing. Turn off the car.. then back on.. it was fine. This happened twice. Once during the Qualifier and once during the Main. Same turn. Same type of roll. Same problem. No idea what happened. Maybe my ESC setup buttom was pressed in (doubt it since I try it now and still works fine)? Maybe Spektrum? No clue.... I'll just do some research... Maybe it was failsafe??

Other than that I like it alot. More race testing next weekend....

I just can't justify getting one yet. A buddy of mine today at the track had trouble most of the day with the system. He was running it with a brand-spankin' new KO VFS-1 Pro. I don't get it, I thought the Futaba systems all got the upgrades/corrections that the first systems didn't have . I don't care how new the technology is to our r/c world, research and development means just that- 'RESEARCH IT THEN DEVELOPE IT'

I think I'm just gonna take it out of my EvoIV and toss it in on my BD with a Q2 ESC and a Receiver cap along with it just in case.

Tested my yesterday and did not have any problems with it in my MTX-3. Just had to get use to not extending the antenna. Now, it would have been nice for them to included a modifed cover so that you don't have to leave the one that come with the unit off (it looks like your transmitter is broken).

Hi guys,

I have use my new Spektrum System in my 3PK. I use my 3PK in oval 4 cell 19t with a LRP Quantum Competition speedo and a Futaba 9650 digital servo, everything work fine.

Did someone make the cosmetic modification for the small door that cover the module? Post some pics please?

Thanks

It has been conspicuously quiet....

I was waiting for Nimble's response to Galifrey ....

For someone who's 'obviously not an engineer' he seems to have a pretty decent grasp of the system and how it functions...
