good choice.

just make sure you set your EPAS properly.

just remember that savox servos tend to be a little noisy when at neutral.
also alot of people put a fair bit of strain on the throttle servo at neutral (to hold carb shut). so make sure its just enought to close carb at a respectable speed and doesnt move easily when servo is powerd on.

you can actually run less strain on it at neutral if you were to use a throttle return band/spring

I have run the 1268/67 in my buggy for 1 years racing and had no issues but I have the same in my truggy and my throttle 1267 servo died after only 3 race meets, the motor seized. Im thinking just a unlucky batch.

Ineresting what you said about return spring, thinking back i think my truggys return spring could maybe be loaded up too much, have about 1mm of deadband but.....

I would go with the 1256TG on steering, i find the 1258 TG a little to weak for steering.
It could work in a buggy but on a truggy its a no go, it will heat up afther 10 minutes and loose its power.
The TG gears are very good, never seen one strip those.
Also a too fast servo like the 1233SG on the steering can give your car a very nervous feeling, because off the fast respond to steering inputs from you its more suited for 1/10 elec touring cars.

I myself use the 1268 on steering and 1267 on trothle with a lipo, perfect combo for me buggy and truggy.

i know lipo is the way togo but i like the nimh , that is why i would choose the 1258tg.

I run the 1258TG and 1256TG in both my Truggy and Buggy.

I only had one break and that was from me plowing the front end into a pipe.

For the price Savox are the real deal.

Savox servos are good. The only issue I've ever had is with spektrum radio gear. I have stripped a 1256tg servo but you can buy ($20) gear kits.
Me and my buddy where goofing off and he wrecked in front of me and I was already cranked hard to the right when I plowed his 1/8 buggy at the end of a fast straight

I have the 1268 and 1267. they were in the truggy during the futaba os challenge in st louis and they were in one of my buggies for couple races. i had no problems. I have hitec and ko propo and savox and i cant tell much difference. The noises they make are different but thats about it the speed is a little different too. I honestly cant tell much difference in them on the track

If you are set on the Savox 1257 and 1258 TG, I would consider looking at the Align DS610 and DS610. These are the exact same servos but you can find them on Ebay for less than 60$ shipped. I've run them before and they are the exact same servo with different branding/colors.

I take that back, I use 1256TG and 1257TG.

Just discovered this thread and it has some good experienced info in here. I am curious about the 1233 and other tall servos myself for bashers but its quite strange. I see forum where people fit them easily in stuff like SCX10 and Wraith crawlers easily, then 1/8th truggy and MT that they don't fit at all. I really am itching to test a set out in my Savage but its cramped in those TVP already.

I've got a 1258TG servo in my Ofna Ultra LX-2E (Steering). Held up just fine when I cracked an aluminum c-hub almost six months ago. Still works great. If you're stripping gears on a Savox Ti-Geared Servo, I want to see what the rest of the car looked like afterwards!
