if i have a hv servo can i run 7.4 from a bec to it?

What voltage does your RX accept? It too has to be able to handle the voltage.

its a sr 300 and it takes 7.4 fine

Should be no problem then...just be sure to disconnect the red wire from your ESC to RX connector per the instructions.
