Beeper/Horn
#1
Heya, I've got a channel available on my trail rig and nothing to plug into it, so I was wondering if anyone's ever seen a small beeper/horn for RC cars that will work off this spare channel. I'm looking to keep it really small and light, so something like a gigantic Tamiya sound unit is out of the question. I was thinking of something more like the size of a power capacitor.
Thanks.

I don't know. You can get those screechingly loud low voltage alarms and they're pretty small. I'm thinking buy a loud 6v piezo buzzer and hook it up to the logic board from an old micro servo or even a little winch driver circuit.
Crap, I'm soldering again.

its a bulb/beeper combo thats the size of a regular 1156 reverse/turn signal bulb, and its easy to remove the bulb if you so desire.
edit: found this clip on youtube. mind you, its in a heavily insulated 5 series BMW tail light/trunk, in the open air they are much louder.

After a recent race with inattentive marshals I was thinking about the same thing. Is it legal under race rules to have a beeper in your car? I was warned for yelling from the drivers stand (as my car sat 2 feet behind a marshal that was watching the racing action on the other side of the track
).
