TP610C Questions
#1
Hi all, i just last week picked up a TP610C charger and after using it 1 race day have a couple questions.
First off i noticed this charger gets fairly warm during charging, hit it with my temp gun and got a reading of 97 dergrees, the indoor air temp was around 78. Wondering if this is normal or if i should be concerned and set up a fan to keep it cool.
As i am still learning how to use this, i did notice my packs were charging only to 8.35ish volts according to the display, TP advertises " ‘Competition Car Mode’ to achieve the maximum ROAR-approved voltage levels when racing" I'd like to use this mode but cannot for the life of me figure out how to set it up.
The included instruction flow charts aren't very easy to follow, hoping somebody here can lend a hand.
Any insight would be greatly appeciated, Thanks.

To get to the competition mode & storage menus press & hold the green ( sel/mode ) button then use the up (?) button to scroll then press & hold the green button to exit.
Mine got real hot also, Jim at thunder power said to lower the charge rate. Mine was at 140 degrees at 10 amps, I would use a fan if you are worried, it will help in the long run.
About the battery voltage fully charger, NEVER trust what any charger says the voltage is. Check the charged pack with a volt meter to get the actual volts so you have an accurate idea of what the volts really are.

V 6.0 ( That is the latest & best & you are up to date)
on the screen. if it is
V 5.5 You will not have competition mode, it was introduced in V 5.6 or V 5.7 ( I think)
All updates after competition mode were charging refinements.
I have been told Thunder Power no longer sells the PC Downloader, & yes you have to have it or send it in.
You can contact them by r-mail at...
[email protected]
Send it attention Big Jim
I had V 5.5 & sent mine in, then a friend bought a downloader.

You could also check with your local tracks & racers, one of them may have a programmer. I have updated 20 + 610's at races all over Florida.
