HobbyPartz SkyRC 400x2 charger for $115 shipped!
Hobbypartz has a great deal going right now on the Sky RC Ultimate800 dual channel charger. $115 shipped! That is a ~$50 savings over the Hitec or Protek version of this charger, even after coupon at Tower or Amain. Up to the reader if a warranty is worth $50 more. If I had not just bought the Hitec a couple weeks ago (when the Hobbypartx versionw as $150) I would be all over this $115 deal.

They also have the single channel version of the charger for $65 shipped.

But the Hitec will do 200 amps per port!
Imagine charging around 40C, that's probably quicker than I can get the battery out of the car and hook it up.
Top that PowerLab fanboys...

Ha. That is funny. Talk about a typo.

Yeah, I went back and reread it several times, zoomed way in looking for a decimal point, thought it had to be my old eyes or noggin, no way that is right.

Received the 400w Duo charger today. Soldered it up and charging my new IP 6800 mah 2s packs. Observations:
Good:
- Seems to be well constructed.
- comes with charge cables, two balance boards, etc.
- Same interface everyone is used to with the Chinese chargers.
Bad:
- Thing sounds like a 747 engine. Probably the loudest charger I have owned.
- The charge cables they give you are only 18 awg. While they probably work, they seem small if you are charging at high amperage. I replaced them with 14 awg cables.
Neutral (not bad considering the low price of the charger):
- Like most of the Chinese chargers it will not tell you the voltage of each cell unless it is charging/discharging.
- No IR feature.
- Low balance discharge.

I'm using a standard 12v PS. The downside with the SkyRC/iMax/Hitec/etc chargers is that to get the full output (400w per channel for this charger) you need an 18v PS. So no way to make one out of two cheap server power supplies like the airplane guys do with a 24v input charger. Not sure how much power this charger will put out at 12v input, but I would guess around 250 watts per channel. Maybe 300 watts per channel.

What do you use for a power supply? If this charger will do 400w per channel at 12v then I could parallel up a couple server power supplies without having to cut the ground on one.

Using both channels?

Wow, did not realize that. I had always read the SkyRC chargers needed the 18v to reach max output.
