Idk if I spelled it correctly, but I need to tap my motor mounting holes to a different size because I was being stupid and managed to strip all of the ones that line up with each other. It is a catle 1410 motor. I asked castle if they sold just the end bell because I would expect it to be maybe $5-$10. But here is the response.
"We do not sell individual sub components, only the repair kit. You should be able to remove the endbell and retap the holes to the next size up SAE thread and use the SAE screw instead of the standard 3mm."
I dont want to spend $50 on the repair kit just so I can get the end bell. Could someone help me out finding a cheap tap and die set that would be the correct size and some screws to use with that?
Or, has anyone seen an endbell for sale anywhere?
Thanks!

May as well go whole-hog and head right up to 4mm for the extra strength, if your motor mount will take a M4 screw.
4MM Tap on eBay ($5)
Just combine that with a #30 drill bit (for 75% Threads).
#30 Drill Bit on Ebay ($4)
Any ole' tap handle should work fine for your use, just go slow!
Edit: Next SAE size from 3mm is #5-40, if you are set on that.

I think a 5-40 tap will fit through the existing 3mm stripped hole without having to drill it first. $1.82 on Amazon. I just use an old dynamite hex driver handle and insert the taps into it using the set screw to hold them in place

Auto parts stores, of course industrial supply places too. Not sure if a drill is needed, guessing it depends on how much larger as mentioned, but sometimes the home improvement/hardware stores will have single size drill and tap combos.
In addition to slow, go a little at a time, maybe half to full turn, back out a turn, repeat. Gives chips a better chance to get out. Don’t force it much, a tap is hard and can be brittle.
