Default Duratrax De10 question 550 compatible?

Hey guys I am new to this forum thing but I have a question regarding my Duratrax De10 esc. Ive had it for a while and I just now acquired a Traxxas slash 4x4(CHEAP) and was wondering if I could run a 550 on it, In my experience I know that it probably couldn't handle a 4.5t-5.5t but i was thinking like a Tekin Sc4x 550 in the 6.5T-7.5T range? Any ones info will help! I just hope I could have a beast system sitting right under my nose if it will run it!

I've seen a few people run this but you are at the limit for that esc probably. Its rated to 4 turns (6 with reverse) and with a 550 can motor it might be close.

I sent duratrax a email

Im looking to pick up one de10 and would like to know if i can use Ballistic 550 BL 5.5 or tekin SC4X 5.5T

and it only can be used on 2cell lipo not 3 cell

Thank you for contacting Product Support.

SPECS: Motor Types: Sensored and Sensorless Brushless down to 5.5 Turns

Default Whynot?

I know it might be pushing it but I think I might as well try the Tekin sc4x in the 7.5t wind. If it does blow the esc up its really no big deal because my local hobby shop sells them for 79.99 so Ill get back to you guys because I ve ran this esc for a long time (540s) and really think that team duratrash actually has something useful and if it can run it without over heating then Tekin and Viper better watchout!

I has used my DE10 on 3s with a 7.5 540 motor. I had timing on the motor and esc all the way up. Got to 130 degrees. Ran great no problmens at all.

Yea you can use it with a 550. I used one with a hobbywing 4.5 in my ofna 4x4. Just use a fan to help keep temps down.
