Default Futaba Micro Receiver Question

Are they any good? Specifically the R204GF and the R2106GF (in a surface application). How is the range on these? The ad I saw for the 204 said it had only a 230ft range, is this accurate? It seems a little short to me.

Nah, they both stink

Of course they're fine. How far away do you want it to go? A mile? How big is the track you're racing on?

The 2106 is designed for Park Flyers, how far do you think people fly those?

I have both and I can't answer about range since both are in my crawlers and those rarely go beyond 30 feet away so range isn't an issue here.

Futaba's one of the better one's for Distance, My 603's and 604's went Pretty darn far away before i felt "sketchy"

What ever you do, dont expect a Spektrum to do ANYwhere near what most other radio's do. Spek range is IMO Horrrrrrible.

I'm not too sure about the poor range with Spektrum. I have all my race RCs both on-road and off-road using a variety of Spektrum receivers and have never had an issue with any of the 12 of them.

I know Futabas are great, I'm actually switching from Spektrum. I've never had any range issues with them, I just had a glitching problem with some signals at our track and turns out only people with spektrums were having that problem so I switched. I went with the R2106GF, it's going in my mini 8ight, and by the time that thing gets far enough away from me for there to be range issues it'll probably be impossible to see lol.
