LRP Motor HELP!?!?
#1
Hi all, I have a SC10 4x4 with a LRP SXX TC spec V2 esc, and LRP x12L 4.5t 550 motor. My problem is, if I roll on the throttle smoothly, everything acts as it should, but if I jab the throttle quickly the motor will begin to accelerate, and then cog badly, like the motor is trying to reverse direction. I've replace the sensor board in the motor, and nothing changed. I borrowed a tekin 550 motor yesterday, and everything was fine, so I know it's not the esc.
I also noticed that if I fully advance the timing on the sensor board it doesn't cog, but the motor has way too much power, and it quickly over-heats. I've tried all the different boost settings in the esc including Blinky mode, and no change. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd rather not have to buy a new motor.
Thanks,
Sean

I have the lrp 5.5 550 got 1 race day worked good.2 nd race day seemed like it had a low voltage issue cutting out on acceleration.tried every thing then it began to cog badly and sounded like a card in a bicycle wheel. It now sits in my pile of tinity motors that all lasted a few club races.i have not had very good luck with these brushless motor companies.no reply from trinity email.so far the old novak motors i have will not die.bought a new balistic made it 2 min then died.at least novak fixed this issue but shipping and repair took over a month.reedy sonics have been very good so far no faults.so i rec novak and reedy motors.tekin motors are being used by my buddies and have had no issues that i am aware of.ps if u find a way to get the lrp motor to work let me know cause it worked very very well when it did.thanks
