Need help debugging issue with Tx/Rx
 

I purchased a spektrum dx3e and sr300 from a local buyer. I plugged in a servo in the steering port, then powered the receiver with a team orion 1700 nimh 6V into the aux port. For a split second, I can hear the servo move. As soon as power on the the transmitter and turn the wheel, I get no response from the servo. Your help is greatly appreciated. This is actually my first 2.4 setup, so go easy on me. ;) Thanks for looking.

are you planning to run the system off of that battery or will you be powering it with an esc?

with a battery.
