You don't have to have an attitude. We rate our motors to 100,000 rpms as well. However we only rate our 1/10 motors for up to 3s use. The RS pro has more fets than the Rx8. SO it too can easily handle the load. For speed runs alone I may have suggested using one of our sensorless motors only because of their delta construction and larger rotor design the top speed can be found a bit easier. So do you answer the tech line and answer questions at Tekin also? I'm asking because I have called in a few times and only talked to the same tech. I told him wha I was doing and he said you guys only have experance on the track side of things and no info on the drag racing side of it.He recommended the 10.5 turn so I bought it along with a pro4 motor I still have unopened on the shelf as I see that will not work for me eathier. On the customer side I have spent a few grand in the past 3 weeks on Tekin stuff with no result. If you can guide me in the way I need to go if would be helpful. |

1 to 1 ratio
Might be off a little on my assumptions, but using a 2:1 tranny ratio, 60mm tires, and the near 50,000RPMs you mentioned, isn't that geared for something like 175MPH? Might explain the motor heat. |

Sounds like very high gearing, at least to start with.

We have some drag racers on the team. However they're racing purpose built cars.
From what I gather you're not doing this. You're doing full speed rips up and down the street. The Pro 4 3300kv can work on 3s. However you may have a hard time finding the right gearing to use it top speed wise. The 10.5 should be very very fast on 3s but again the Rx8 is limited to how much timing it can apply to the motor. Put the timing advance to 100, which is max of 30 degrees. The guys on the team drag racing use a small cap array to deal with the huge loads pulled on the battery packs from a dead stop. But again I'm not sure if you're using a similarly prepped surface. |
