Default Thunder AC6 Balancing question

Taking my 500mAh 4s pack out of storage charge after a week and i am balancing the pack via balance charge. I set it to 5A but the charger has been under 1A the whole time while charging. Why doesnt it balance charge at 5 amps? So far its been over 2 hours and the battery is just about finished at around 16.78v. Battery is cool as a cucumber

Are you saying you had it on storage charge for a week or in storage for a week?

If one or more of the cells is off, then it will drop back the charging current while balancing; you can check cells while charging by pressing the INC button.

They were in storage for a week. Took about 5 hours to get them to 3.8v

And yeah i know how to check the voltages of each cell and i figured it was dropping in amperage so it could balance, but was just wondering why it doesn't do it at a higher charging current. The battery is rated for charging up to 2C, and that about 10 amps correct? The pack i have on it now is at .02 amps. Been about 2 hours since i put it on

It's limited by the 50 watts of power, can't charge a 4S at 5 amps. Will only do around 3 amps, maybe slightly higher at the beginning of a charge when the pack voltage is lower.

In addition to any imbalance caused limiting as mentioned.

And the current will always drop off on the end of a lipo charge during the Constant Voltage portion of the CC/CV lithium charge process.
