A newb type question??
haha this may be obvious what the answer is but does the amp output of an esc have an effect on speed?:lol: like i will use the hobbywing esc's for an example and they have two different stock spec esc's the justock: 45 amp and the extreme stock: 60 amp will the extreme stock be faster then the justock with both esc's being at zero boost and zero timing? like noticeably different speeds?

Choice of motor determines your speed
Load on the motor (gearing, weight) determines how many amps are drawn from your battery, ESC simply provides a path If you gear the car for more speed it will draw more amps Cheers |

Batteries have a continuous and burst amp rating
ESC's have a continuous and burst amp rating Motor's have a continuous and burst amp rating In an ideal world you want your ESC and Battery's continuous ratings to be greater than your motors burst rating Example 100 amp burst motor 120 amp cont. ESC 150 amp cont. capable battery (5000mah 30c) If you keep the same motor and simply change ESC's you are unlikely to notice any difference Cheers |
