Default Manual programming of Castle Sidewinder SCT ESC question

So I bind my radio and run the truck and everything works great. No issues.

But I decide I'm going to check the programming on the ESC to make sure the LIPO low voltage protection is on.

So I go through the beeps and blinks method and set everything according to what the manual says the defaults are.

Then my motor doesn't run and gets real hot real quick. If I go back through the programming and pick option 1 for the motor, then it works, but that isn't the default.

Also, the deadband wasn't as it was out of the box.

Has anyone else experienced this? I don't think the defaults, as listed in the manual, are correct.
