Default servo play

Hey guys, I just bought an associated b4.1 rtr, and I noticed that the servo has a lot of play. When it's off, i can move the servo about an inch further than it does when it is on. Does anybody know why this is or how i can fix it

Thanks

Are you asking about wobble, i.e. "play" or throw? If it's throw and you can move it an inch further off than on, the dual-rate adjustment on your radio is probably turned down and is limiting that.

While Mark is correct about checking your endpoint adjustment. What you describe sounds normal to me. Servos only move 60deg. each way with the radio, (120deg total). Moving them by hand you can get 180deg. plus full sweep.

So you're referring to actual play in the front end then? The bolt on the spring for the servo saver is likely not tight enough. It's a common AE car issue. Crank it down. Also, make sure the screws described in step 3 here are tight as well. Same for all the ball studs throughout the front end.

The link I posted above goes to the entire instruction manual for your car. Give it time to load, it's a big file. Do it in reverse to get at the parts then put it back together following those steps.

It shouldn't be all that fundamentally unrecognizable compared to most SC trucks.
