Transponder low voltage issue ???
I live in Minnesota and run VTA with a 1s battery (don't ask). I have the Novak voltage booster for my ESC. My receiver is the Spektrum SR3300T. The problem is when I brake the the light in the transponder goes out. Adding a capacitor with a Y harness at the rec. port does not help. I used to run a 9 volt battery as booster pack and this took care of the issue.
I prefer to just use voltage booster and save some weight. What else can I do to solve the problem? Thanks, DP. |
transponder
I have a house transponder thats been converted to a rec wire plugin for power. It was designed to run on 1.5v, and has a very strong signal at 6v, Kevin played around testing how strong it was. I would say that this would be a good option if you can find one. It doesn't miss a lap, even in a monster truck

Transponder voltage
Thanks BT, I may have to use a club unit from now on. My 2nd option is a new Mylaps unit at $120.00 shipped (ouch). They claim on the website to need just 2.8 volts for minimum power. DP

Makes for a little messier car, but something like this should power a transponder, and save a little dough:
Any Volt Micro |
And another option would be another booster from the battery leads to the booster to the transponder.
I got a couple of these. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=7884 But any booster should work. LOL I run 1 cell 3.5 2 wd sct on occasion. |
Low voltage for Transponder with 1S battery
I ordered one of these;
Novak 4 Cell Transponder Voltage Booster Module Extended Product Information: The module connects between the vehicle’s transponder and the receiver, and boosts voltage to the transponder for consistent lap counting—even when the battery pack is dumped. |
