If you return your motor for Trade-In, the replacement charge is 58.00 plus return shipping. You can request the same wind motor, or get a different wind for the same price. When items are returned for replacement, we simply send the customer the item requested, we do not examine the returned item to diagnose the problem.
You seem to be asking to return your motor for evaluation only, for which we charge an evaluation fee. We cannot diagnose an item without seeing it, so I'm not exactly sure what you want us to do about a year old motor.
You can email Charlie, [email protected] and he may be able to help you narrow down the part that needs replacing. You could then replace the part and not need to return it for service; every part you need to service your motor is readily available.

[email protected] is patiently awaiting your email.
Break down what it's doing and perhaps I can assist with the "part" that needs to be replaced so you don't have to send anything in. Just get the part.
We have to charge to "inspect" things that are damaged if that's what you want. If you simply want to do the "exchange", there is "NO" inspection, we simply replace it with what you mark on the form.
My guess is that who ever you spoke with on the phone simply was confused by what you were asking.
It is "standard procedure" for non warranty exchanges to be done with out any inspection at all, and no additional fees.
