Default Question for someone that knows a lot about FM-2.4 radios.

Asked this awhile ago and never really found a good answer to it.

Using a fhss-3 Airtronics MT-4... Is a M8 Fm radio faster than it in response time? I still hear people say that Fm is still faster responding. I'm just really curious even if it is so little that you cant notice the response times.

Crystals are a direct signal with no lag and will always be faster then signal searching 2.4 setups the newer 2.4 stuff from all the companies is so fast though that u can not tell the difference except spektrum which if driven back to back versus crystals i can tell
on another note the newer top end servos lile the ko stuff are making up for the tranmite time lag with speed
i still run crystals and if there was enough fm channels to have no misshapps all the pros would still run them also if there sponsors would let them

Exactly what Spektrum radio were you using that you could tell the difference? I have yet to notice any hesitation or lag whatsoever in my Spektrum. Maybe I'm just getting old?

Was running a Spektrum equipped KO transmitter with a KO 2413 and switch to KO FHSS module and receivers as well as RSX servo and it's night and day, way more fast and precise I turned to early at first due to the lag I was used to with the Spektrum system.
I can't see how much it could be faster.

Awesome.

Thats the issue right there. You were using a module thats where your bottleneck is. I thought you was actually using a Spektrum system till I read what you wrote.

True, I was using a Spektrum Pro module in my Futaba 3PKS and switched to a Spektrum DX3R and didn't notice that much of a change but I did notice a change when going from the original Spektrum module to the Pro, not much of a change but some.

There is a noticeable difference between a first generation Spektrum DX3.0 and the DX3R. Tougher to tell between the DX3R and my older analog KO stuff, but it wouldn't surprise me if the old analog was a touch quicker.

Gave this some more thought, while analog in general (non RC) is hard to beat for quickness, no clock cycle to wait for, if the digital is using a quicker frame rate than the traditional RC 20ms, as many do, it might well be quicker in practice.
