I recently bought a brand new Novak GTB form a member on here, and as soon as i got it i wired it up and turned it on and the capacitor immediately caught on fire. What would cause this? I am running a 13.5 motor and a 2s 5000mah 40c lipo.

By "new", was it in a factory sealed box? If not then it was probably not new.

Best bet is to just bite the bullet and send it back to Novak.

I totally gave up the the "ORANGE" stuff several years ago and have never been happerier.
You will be getting a few "I love the Novak stuff" here, but for me never again.

If it was just the cap it is replaceable, if it was more than that... good luck.

GTB's were the last of the good ones & I even had one burn on the bench.

Perhaps the seller from whom you purchased the esc will refund your money. If you want to return it to us, we can replace it for you.
