Default EPA Steering limit?

Im trying to adjust the EPA on my left and right steering on my 1/8th buggy.

My Question is, where do i stop the EPA limit at? Till a buzzing noise comes out of the servo or??

Please help

A buzzing noise means that the servo is stalled, not good. Back off the settings to just before that. There should be a small amount of movement with the transmitter at full turn.

I visually watch until the hub hits a stop lock point or the rack assembly stops moving.
I watch the hubs first.
I'll then add +3 to +5 or lock tension.

I'll then dial down the dual rate D/R till I barely have enough or it isn't twitchy.

If I need it all, then Expo curves come in a little more.

This is provided you go through a check list in order...

Servo centered. (horn on & then sub trim adjusted)
Rack centered. (adjust the linkage not the servo)
Make the car go strait, by adjusting the last set of linkges.
Then set endpoints.

Why turn it up, and then back down?

What I call lock tension takes up the forces while on the track to hold the steering at full lock.
If you push gently on the tires they will come off of full lock...
You can kill servos with too much full lock force, keep an eye on it.

When I get to a track I adjust my D/R for conditions & when the groove comes up.

The more open/fast the track the less steering I tend to need & just adjust the D/R on the fly. I always know I'll never get any more steering than 100% when my D/R is 100%

Ah OK. Guess I never saw the need for that last little bit, always went a little safer I guess.
We agree on the key of not overdoing it.

Cheers for the reply.
