Of the connectors that are not bullets straight into the battery, IMO, the deans are the best way to go.

XT60's or the ribbed "Deans" knockoffs from HobbyKing.

I used to use Deans. I swiched over to Traxxas plugs for all my batteries. Like having more plug to grab ahold of to pull them apart. I use 4mm bullets on my brushless motors.

If you get any solder or wire even the slightest bit past the line on the terminals, they can be a real pain to try to snap in. If not snapped in all the way the terminals will push back out when you connect them. I found that any solder that gets past this line can be easily removed with a sharp x-acto knife (with caution, of course). Also, the terminals are specific for either male or female connector too. I once made the mistake of opening both sets and soldering away and couldn't figure out for the life of me why I couldn't get the terminal to pop into the connector. After many of these connectors I've found them to be very easy to solder up.
