Lrp quality questionable?
#1
I recently bought a brand new Lrp sxx v2 speed controller and don't even have 45 minutes run time on it, in which has already resulted with issues. The speed controller is randomly cutting into the motor/ drivetrain failure code for no reason.. Another local racer has had a problem similar to this and his esc was equally as new. I called Lrp and was told, "It sounds like the battery elimination circuit". So now, I have to give up precious time and more money to send it in to get it fixed in which I won't be able to attend a race. This is very disappointing coming from Lrp with the reputation they have from past years. I do not expect to pay $200 for an new esc to have a problem and it not be fully taken care of this soon from purchase! The question is, with multiple cases has Lrp's quality become subpar to the competition? Should I cut my losses and switch to a Tekin or Orion? I am very disspointed Lrp..
Also, this is in no way an attack at Lrp's customer service, as I have found them helpful. This is aimed at the quality of merchandise being sold.

I have (2) SXX TC Spec V2 esc's that I run the crap out of every week and haven't had a problem. I'm running the new 3.0 software, I wouldn't trade them for anything else at this point. I'm very happy with them, sorry to hear you are having problems.

If it is the BEC you might be able to salvage your race by using an external BEC or a receiver pack. Then send it in, get the new replacement and hope someone hasn't checked any forums in a long time so you can sell it to them.
