Default Spektrum SR3100 won't bind!

As the title says, my rx won't bind to my DX3R. I have used this setup in my RC8Be with Savox 1256TG, Tekin RX8 / T8-2050 on 5000mah 4s batts for the past 6 months or so and now, all of a sudden it stops working.

I had to re-bind it once or twice along the way, but I cannot get it to rebind at all now. I place the bind plug in the batt / bind slot on the Rx, power on the RX8 esc, get the quick flashing amber light on the rx, click bind on the DX3R, get the beep on the DX3R but the sr3100 continues to quick flash. No input on the Tx gets any response.

My DX3R 'ID Code' does end in 0712, but as I said, it all worked fine up until now. I tried a different model slot, I tried resetting the model, potentiameters and anything else I could on the Tx side that I could find.

Suggestions?? Thanks for any help.

I've lost 2 of the 3100's this way and have seen no less than 2 others go dead and do nothing other than blink rapidly..best of luck...
