Mamba Max ???

Question about the Mamba Max,

Is there a blinky mode?

This is a Mamba Max, not a Pro. I've been through the Castle link software, and I didn't find one, but maybe I just missed something.

I've recent got a few of these ESC's and with all the talk of blinky modes and classes, I was wondering if it was possible.

Try the latest firmware

Cheers

The MMpro is the only CC ESC that has ramp up timing. When cheat is not being used it blinks the yellow LED rapidly.

The little green Mamba Max has adjustable base timing (no cheat mode or ramp up timing) it's blinky mode all the time with any firmware.
It will blink the yellow LED every 30sec. with v1.27 and up but thats just to let you know the power is on.

Thank you, I gues I really didnt know much about the blinky modes. Thats why I love this forum.......

If thats the only thing you didn't understand your doing much better then I did when I got my first Mamba Max 8 years ago

Yea, I was doing ok. But to be honest maybe I cheated a little, as I have an Electrical Engineering Degree. Sometimes it helps, but most times its just another piece of paper.

Have you tried the torque control yet ???
It's very useful in many ways :tire:___:tire:>

No I havent got that far yet.

I ended up get my girlfreinds two boys Torment trucks for Christmas, and needless say I've been busy.:lol:

What tips can you give about the torque control. I run a thunder power 7.5 with a mamba max pro on a small high bite clay track. Some times the SC10 is a little too punchy.

I've had very good luck with the Trinty locked 17.5t I have them in my son's B4 and B44, and he loves them. Plenty of power even without the CHEAT mode. We run an indoor carpet off-road with jumps track, on Friday's and a hard packed clay indoor on Sats. And he has enough power to clear the triples on the clay track. And as reference of size, this indoor clay track also runs E-scale buggies. I guess I would call it a 1/9th scale track. Not really a true 1/8th scale, but bigger than a 1/10th scale track too.

I'll try

The torque control is a calibrated current limiter, start with 5 and you'll see where on the track it takes the power away.
At 9 you may not feel it at all but it's still working in the backround.

You can also use it to get longer run times.

Set it the same way you would set a slipper clutch and go up from there until you get what you want.

When your rotor get hot it loses some magnetism, that makes the KV's go up.
If you look at the KV you get from the test (from time to time) you can get an idea how your motor is holding up to the heat.

The punch control is a throttle delay so have that off when your trying to set the torque limiter, you'll get a better feel for whats happening.

If it has adjustable base timing how can it be blinky mode, at least all the time? Doesn't seem to appear on the ROAR approved non timing ESC list.

The Mamba Max Pro does, but oddly no confirming light info is listed like for most others.

Set timing is ok, it is the Dynamic timing that is not legal for blinky mode.

Some of the LRP esc's have different timing settings that can be preset.

In blinky mode that timing does not increase or decrease.

Out of blinky mode the timing will advance as the rpm's increase, between 2 user selected rpm range's at a user selected # of degrees.

You can preset timing on the mmp also in blinky mode, I think it is 0,5,& 10 degrees.
These are fixed settings that do not change during a run, it is similar to changing the timing on the motor.Performed by the electronics of the esc instead of the sensor position.
