Default Mamba Max Pro 1 cell question please

I just bought a 4wd 1/10th scale buggy to run at our track and don't have any spare cash at the time to buy another speed control. It says on the MMP 1 cell that it can handle 1-6cell lipos. I'm wondering how the setup would need to be in this car. I have a spare 10amp CC BEC sitting in my trailer that i could throw on it. would i need to remove the "red" wire coming from the ESC to the reciever, or since there is no BEC built in would it even send power to the reciever?? I'm confused since i got this 1 cell esc on a trade and have no idea what it's capabilities are. Please someone explain this to me so I don't burn up a reciever or esc. I want to run a 2s lipo in my buggy, and I'm gonna run a LRP 5.5T 540 can motor in it, with a smaller pinion and bigger spur. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Tommy

There is no BEC in the 1S MMP so you need not remove the red wire.

It will function just like the regular MMP except without a fan so watch your temps.

You will still need to remove the red wire. Even though there is no BEC castle still has it wired in so the castle link can power it.

ok. thanks for all the info. even though i have 2 answers back to back that differ from each other. I'll try the mamba 1 cell first without a reciever pack to see if the reciever is getting any power. i'll still take the red wire out just to be safe and add my external bec. I'm fairly smart on rc electronics so i should get her figured out. Thanks
