Yep, happened to me a couple years ago, i wanted to fix it myself but horizon would not sell me the spring so i could, they wanted me to send it in so they could make money off somthing i could do myself. i posted a ad on here looking for a broken radio and got one for 10 bucks and fixed it, after taking it apart i realized i probably could have found a sprin at the local hardware, what radio do you have?

Same thing happened to my new dx3r 2 weeks after I got it. Remove the case screws (1 or 2 behind a decal). Split the cases and reinstall the spring. I applied a dab of shoo goo on the post so it never appends again. Good ever since.

Yep its simple to open the radio up. Then just find the spring and bend a coil on the broken end into a new hook.

Just happened to my dx3rpro Same thing. Was in the middle of a qualifier then pop and flop lol. I've had three issues with this controller. First I had the dreaded mother board crash then a broken rolling selector now a broken throttle spring. WTF.

If the radio is semi new Horizon will take care of it for you. If not you need to ship it into them and once its there the turn around time is varied by how much stuff is in line for repair. I think right now its 4 or 5 days. If its not under warranty its $30 a hour for labor with a 1/2 hour minimum plus parts.

sorry to bump an old thread but I have the Dx2s and the spring broke. I took it apart but have no clue where the spring goes on one end. I can get pics when I get home but if someone who has done this can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

just take it apart, my steering spring broke on me a couple weeks ago and I was able to bend a coil on the broke end and hook it, took about 15 minutes tops to fix.

OK I got it last night. I had all the screws out but didn't realize that the screen cover was holding the two halves together. Its all good. Just took a coil from the end and made a new hook.
