M11X vs. MT4
#1
I read enthusiastic comments on both radios, but now I'm wondering if there is a noticeable reason to spend so much money more for the M11X, while MT4gives you in addition the possibility to use telemetry.
I'm planning to move to a pistol radio and to retire my dearest T3VCS, but I'm really struggled on the choice between those two

I have the MT-4 and I love it. It feels great in my hand and has more features than I know what to do with. I've held the M11X a few times and it feel to heavy to me. The only thing I don't like about the MT-4 is the lack of a back light. Hope this helped.

For instance, the engine temperature measure could be entrustable? The correct temperature is as close as you can to the glow, how can you reach a real reading with that sensor? Did you ever compare telemetry data with a temperature gauge?

It's tough to look down and check telemetry readings during a race. I guess if you're a basher, then it really doesn't matter.
If you club race, then the m11x or even the MX3X would probably be a better choice.

Well, I'm a club racer and definitely you can't read data during a race and moreover could be better to remove the sensors to avoid spreading of any precious drop of battery, but during practice maybe could be useful.

This has nothing to do with cost. I got rid of my M11X and picked up and MT-4, and haven't looked back.
The big screen and menu system on the M11X are a big downside for me. The MT-4 is lighter too, but not too light, kind of perfect. Love how small it is and slots into my hauler now instead of it's own pouch.
The only consideration with cost is, that being cheaper you can be less precious with it as it's easier to replace if need be. Not that I trash my stuff or don't care for it. It's just nice to leave it in the TX compound at a big race meeting and not worry about it.

I agree. I love my MT4. I traded in my M11x for it and the only complaint I have is the lasck of backlit display. However, I only need that when I race indoors. I also heard that there is a MT4 available with a backlit display also but I haven't seen it yet.

About telemetry, generally speaking do you think is useful?

My review is based solely on the radio features 1:1 to the MX11x and since MX11 has no telemetry those features are just a bonus on the MT4.
Im sure a backlit version is in the works.

I used to have an M11X. Changed over to the MT-4 and love it.
Has all the features of the M11X and more. It is lighter and costs alot less.
The only downside as mentioned is no backlight but I just live with out it.
And as has already been pointed out you can easily fit an after market backlight.
MT-4 all the way for me.

No need to look down at the readouts for telemetry, you can set alarms for both temp gauges, and they've come in handy for me on more than one occasion. MT-4 all the way, all of the features of the M11 (minus backlight) for less money, and a radio that weighs half as much. Very comfortable, as well. yes, receivers are expensive, but I use one vehicle per radio, so it's not an issue for me.

Thank you all for your precious suggestions.
I am pretty convinced to MT4. I just need to try whatever pistol radio before in order to see which is my feeling with trigger and wheel instead of sticks.
