We need some more information about your charging needs/habits before we can make the best recommendations. If it is just to satisfy your addiction then maybe you need that $700 charger I saw here.

i don't need the multiple port charger like that..it waste..
oh yeah..i just play with nimh or nicd sometimes..
i need the charger that can give my batt kickin alot power..

If it's about kicking more power... Why arent you going the LiPo route? I mean, money spent on a new nimh/nicd charged could be spent on lipo's instead...

I love my thunder ac6 charger. I think the 680 is probably even better. It can be set to cycle your packs so it will charge and discharge at certain rates to try and get more performance out of a dying pack. Wont be as good as a new pack, but better than a totally dead one. I would also recommend getting a couple gens ace 2s lipos.

Great pack if you run a lowish power set up

If you run a high power set up (then nicad and nimh probably wouldnt work) this is an amazing pack for the price to performance. Has even been proven to beat maxamps $160 packs.

Get a Duratrax Intellipeak ICE charger!
I bought mine long before I ever owned a Lipo battery and it's still my main charger, even though I haven't had anything but Lipos for a few years. It has more settings for NiMh/NiCd cells than you can imagine for the price. There's a nice big graphic display and a temp sensor for the battery as well.

I guess you're referring to the "Boost" mode - it didnt impress me. IMHO only a few things count for NiMh:
Use them frequently (storage (months) lower the punch).
Dont use trickle charge.
Dont overheat during charge - that is, reliable cut off, and preferably a temp cut off.
Dont drive until the car hardly can move.
Between race/practise days: Discharge at 10-20 amps, then equalize them. Do this when they have cooled down, then store them.
Charge them as close to race start as possible - preferable, they are still warm (not hot) when the car hit the track.
New packs are just better...
In other words, I wont recommend the Indi 16*5v6, as it tends to overcharge. I prefer LRP/Nosram - but that ICE definately sounds good too.
EDIT: Forgot to mention the importance of good cables/connectors and soldering :-)

Umm, what can possibly beat a 35Gfx ? Addiction plays a role here, me thinks
Which GM charger do you have? GM have some interesting products
Anyway, on the LRP site, they have a Competition 3 for a good price, 47,6 euros... http://www.lrp-shop.com/xWS_Detail.p...F904&aid=41552 It has some nice features. I think they've lowered the price, because it dont comes with a built in balancer -it can charge LiPo's if you need that someday...

i have Maha powerex battery analyzer to break in,charge, discharge, cycle before raceday to find the best batteries and Muchmore CTX at field to do the quick discharge process..
it's more complicated as you know..and all you said above was right..
but i realized the second round battery more powerfull than the new one i'm sure..
oh you mean Pulsar?yeah..some of my competitor use them and i think is good too..but i just want to find the better one..
