Default Castle Sidewinder Sct Problem

Hi guys im having a problem with my castle creations sidewinder sct (1410-3800kv) i have throttle but no brakes. Ive tried re calibrating the esc Several times and rebinding the Spektrum Dx3.0 to its reciever several times. I have the trim and epa set correctly on the remote but cant figure what else is going wrong. Does anyone have any input on my problem?

Thanks

If you have reverse but no brakes I would say it is definitely an issue with the ESC or the settings in it. If you have neither reverse nor brakes it could possibly be an issue with the radio or its settings.

I have reverse but no brakes. Although the only way i get reverse is when i move my trim towards the brake side.

What brake setting do you have configured in the ESC ?

Trim should be centered and throttle / brake EPA's need to be at 100% before calibrating

Get the Castlelink usb adapter and software so you can check it

Cheers

If you get reverse when you adjust the trim I would suspect a calibration error or the throttle deadband could be too small for your radio. If the ESC has trouble sensing neutral, reverse and brakes may not function properly. The Castlelink definitely makes it much easier to know what settings you are using.

I usually recommend the maximum EPA adjustment your radio allows before calibration. I believe yours will go up to 125%. Of course you know to start with throttle trim at zero.

sounds like you have it set up in crawler mode no brakes just forward/reverse. use a castle link to check your programming it is way easier

Well i took it to the track last weekend and hooked it to the castle link. Nothing helped, infact it coggs even more now. So my buddy told me to dump out the sand out of the esc. So i did that and i now have brakes. It feels like 20% but it was 100% on he computer, and it still coggs bad. Any input?

And as if this wasnt enough, i now cant get the esc to rebind to reciever. It accepts full throttle but not full brake. If i hold the brakes while im supposed to it will sit there and flash the light and beep all day long. But yet if i hold the full throttle position, when it wants brakes it accepts it????

Any input? Im thinking if i can get it re binded It can solve some of my problems with the brakes and whatnot.

Do you have the Castlelink adapter and software ?

Change your ESC settings to the following

Start Power - High
Timing - 0
Punch - Disabled
Torque Limit - Disabled
Reverse Type - With Reverse
Brake - 50%

Then do the following

Centre your throttle trim
Set your throttle / brake EPA's (travel) at 100%

Calibrate ESC to your transmitter

If it does not recognize full throttle or full brake take the EPA's out to maximum and try again

If it still does not work change the throttle deadband to maximum (0.1500ms)

If it still does not work rollback the firmware in the ESC and start again

Cheers
