Default Futaba 3PRKA & 4PL

Looking at these two radios for my 3 cars (1 crawler and 2 racers) the crawler doenst need a high end radio but I would like one for my racers. AND, I would like to be able to drive the racers at the same time w/son and friends.

My question is this:
If I purchased a 4PL and additional R2104GF RX, would the 3PRKA TX bind with and control one of the cars with the R2104GF?

Will the 4PL bind with and control the R203GF RX included with the 3PRKA?

Futabas website says they are not FASST compatible but that is all.

Thanks for any info.

if the 3prka's receiver is not fhss it is not compatible with each other but if the 3prka's receiver is fhss it will work together (binding process) its always worth a try thought this might help

Website says the 3PRKA RX is FHSS as well as the 4PL. It isn't too clear. I have found a compatablity chart but it wasn't from Futaba so...

Also talke to the customer support and got a real quick and uninterested "yep"
so I wasn't real confident in that information. I guess the best thing to do is try and find a shop that will try it for me before I drop coin.

OCRC?

Im the guy with the long antenna (for now)

Hi,

maybe a bit late, but here is how it works :

Your 3PRKA TX is FHSS
The RX that comes with it is the RG203F, that is S-FHSS (faster than FHSS, but works also in FHSS mode)

Your right and wrong about the 4PL as it's not FHSS like you said, it's S-FHSS, but works also in FHSS.
The R2014GF is a S-FHSS Rx, can also work in FHSS. It's the same than the R203GF but with one more channel

So both Rx can work with both Tx, the only thing is that the R2104GF will do like the R203GF with the 3PRKA, it will use the FHSS mode.

Two important things :
- you can also use this smaller Rx : R2016GF (S-FHSS, but shorter distance, 300ft/100m max)
- With the 3PRKA, the Rx use FHSS automatically, but with 4PL, it will connect in S-FHSS, but you then has to set the servo type (digital or normal).
