Default Receiver antenna length?

Hey all I have a redcat racing hurricane xtr. Has the DSM-2C Transmitter
and would say from looking identical reciever FS-gr3a.

I broke off some of mine and coudn't find it. I don't know how long its supposed to be. Also can I use any small 18+ gague wire?

The wire on mine has center core and outter shielding, not like just solid coated wire which is why I am asking.

Thanks
HurricaneXTR

I don't think Coax wire can be repaired. Shoot Redcat an email and see if they will replace it. That receiver costs next to nothing so it's likely they would replace it but I know nothing of Redcats customer service.

It doesn't meaning what is the lenght of Coax wire, only the lenght of center core without shield has sense, about 31mm.

Well for one its not coax, its aluminum wire by the looks of it. To me looks like normal wire. I'm not worried about soldering I work on cb radios she other things. I'm worried about length.
Redcat's customer service sucks. Don't expect anything from them cause they listen to your rant and tell you to have a nice day.

Do you realize how short 31mm is? I'm talking about the receiver in the car. The antenna on it. 31mm is 1.2". Sorry but wrong answer lol maybe 310mm which would be 12".

I think what vlad_vy is trying to say is only the center core length sticking out past the shield is critical. Actual antenna for 2.4 is pretty short.

Ah I see. I can't remember if there was anything sticking out. My wire has a center core of stranded wire with a woven shielding. Bot core and shielding are soldered to my receiver. I have lots of wire, I just need someone to measure a stock one.

solder in a new wire that would be good enough.
