Default Tekin Capacitor help!

hey guys, i'm going to be running 3 different tekin set ups and this is the first time i have ever had to worry about capacitors. Anyways, here is my set up:

rx8 - 4.5t sc4x sensored - 2s lipo

rx8 - 1400kv sensored - 6s lipo

rs pro - 8.5 t sensored - 2s lipo

Do i need a capacitor for any of these set ups and if so, which ones do i need? What do the capacitors do?

Thanks!
kyle

I use them on everything but the sc4x will prob be the most taxed setup you have. At 5 bucks its not a bank breaker.

The caps help the bec in the esc with the high demands of the fast/strong servos made today.

Hope this helps.

Thank YOU.

It would be wise to run the caps that come with the speedos. They work the best. I run 2 on mine when running them with the lower wind motors.

The stock Tekin ones keep breaking. The leads are snapping off at the base of the body. I need something with stronger leads, but I'm having a hard time finding a 330 uF Cap local. I have a 440 uF. That would work, I would think without causing a problem. It sounds like they will just power up (sorry, I'm pretty rusty on my electronics theory with the voltage supplied, the uF is the overall capacity... so it might even be a little better?

At any rate, I came off the track last night after racing and found that one of the leads on the cap was broken, again. I have the leads as short as possible and the cap is right on top of the ESC, and it's well covered by the body of my SCT.

Any thoughts or suggestions, besides becoming a better driver (working on that too).

I snap my capacitor to tekins body by silicone and leads never breaks.
