Default Hotwire question

I just picked up a Hotwire for my Tekin RS last night. I did a bit of research and got a set up that I think is going to work well, but I have a question about the function labeled "Timing Boost"

I under stand this value is a percentage, but a percentage of what? Also, this value is not listed on the Tekin setup sheets on their website.

I did read one write up that said to just set it at 100 because if the sensor wire becomes damaged the ESC with revert back into sensorless mode and run the motor at the full 100%

Can someone please help clairify?

"not an expert" tryin to help but take with a grain of salt as I'm new to the Tekin's and hotwire myself. Only had them a few months.

From how I understand:

The timing boost is in a percentage of maximum timing. I'm speculating the number but lets say that the ESC allows for 30 degree's of timing total through the ESC. If you put it to 100 your stating you want 100% of the 30 degree's.

I have mine set to 100 as well but I run in sensored mode only so hopefully I'll never have to use that function and my sensor wire remains intact.

I hope I illuminated things a bit...

It does help. I just wanted to be sure I am not going to damage anything with it set to 100 as I am running some boost too. I think you cleared things up, thanks!

I believe that if your running boost that is separate fromt the Timing boost. If your sensor wire unplugs then the two settings on the right.. boost and turbo become irrelevant and no longer function and it reverts to the timing boost setting alone. That's why they say to put it at 100% as it can help you finish the race and still be competitive until you get time to repair/replace the problem.
