Usually you ask for opinions BEFORE you buy something.
It's a good radio and the range is dependent on many factors such as antenna position and placement, receiver, battery condition and so forth.
I have all the range I need for racing and rock crawling. I see no point in having a range where you can no longer see the model.
Either receiver is good, one has dual antenna and the other doesn't.

Use the same transmitter and either switch receivers or get one receiver for each car. The 3PK has a 10 model memory and the 3PKS has a 20 model memory.
