Default Hyperion EOS0610i Duo II problems setup Help!!!

Hello There,

I just picked up a Hyperion Hyperion EOS0610i Duo II w version 5 firmware. im using it for 1c 1/12th 17.5

The problem im having is when the charging is done my cells voltage in the pack is 4.11- 4.15 volts on a volt meter

But when i charge the same 1c pack on my Competition Electronics GFX my pack has 4.20-4.23 on a volt meter and feels like it has more punch on this charger.

Im aware of the roar rule on the volts in the pack. on The Hyperion there is a setting in there to turn up the voltage to the pack i even cranked in to the maxx just to see. and my packs still come off a 4.11-4.15 on the Hyperion

The packs are fine when charged on the GFX but they feel flat on the Hyperion.is there something wrong with the Hyperion or can some one give me a setup for 1c 1/12th?

any help would be appreciated.

What does the voltage on the charger say the pack is at when its finished charging? Does the charger see them as full ~4.2v/cell or does the charger agree with your voltmeter?

Hey Duster_360

On the Hyperion it shows 4.19 but when I use the volt meter right after it charges it reads 4.11-4.15

The GFX reads 4.20-4.23 and on the volt meter it's reads
4.20-4.23

Any ideas?

I'm not familar with that version firmware, but from what you said, I assume the charger has what Hyperion calls TVC - terminal voltage control. Are you sure it charger is not running this mode with it set to reduce the voltage? It's only supposed to reduce the voltage by 20mv (.02v) but if the charger is off calibration to start with...??

If you're sure when you tried increasing the TVC setting that you did it right, then you may have a slightly out of spec charger. I've never seen a calibration procedure detailed for Hyperions.

There is a Hyperion thread on RC Groups in the Batteries and Charger forum, you might find some help by posting over there.

Not sure, but I think the balancer needs to be connected oddly enough. Think I’ve seen this discussed in threads about the micro copter 1S batts.

Also if I remember a balancer connection is needed for the TVC voltage adjustment to function.

Does seem weird for a 1S, can only guess it’s because of better voltage reading capability or something.

Hey Duster_360

The TVC- terminal voltage control yes I tried using that I cranked it up to see if I got any more volts into the pack. But no go this again was with a 1c with no balancer. I'm going to try 2c pack with a balancer connected that came with the charger.

Hey Dave H

You might be right on me needing a balancer. Because I only used this charger
For 1c I'll try to get ahold of a 2c with a balancer and see what happens
