Audio Jack Problem...
#1
Hopefully this is the right place for this If it's not, mod's feel free to move it...
I have an MP3 player thats been having issues lately...It's the audio jack, If I plug it in theres no sound, but if I wiggle it around the sound come thru loud and clear...I know it's not the headphones, I have tried several differant pairs...My question is: if there is something I can do to help solve this problem, I was thinking maybe some type of putty or something that's conductive that I could apply to the jack??? I appreciate any help on this, I would rather not join an Electronics forum for only one question...I really don't want to spend money on an new MP3 player so if I can get this one to hold out a little longer I would apperciate it...
Thank You, Racer53

+^ Probably all you can do. There is dielectric grease, but no real way to keep it from spreading out and shorting out the plug. Need to establish mechanical contact. And wire contact, could be a wire going to the jack, not the jack itself.
