Castle said 3s would damage the 3800 ran on 3s in the Hyper10TT or 4WD SCT. I ran it twice now and the motor doesnt even hit 110. Its generally hitting between 90-108. So its not really workin that hard Id say. So is it possably damaging the motor if its not getting near hot? Just the voltage alone or something? I have it in my Hyper geared 13/45(I think its 45, its the stock spur) The gearing worked fine with a VXL esc/motor on 3s). Im running it with a MMP. The SCT Sidewinder ESC was hitting 150+ on 2s. So we changed that. The motor is rated for 3s, but intended on 3s for 2wd. Its new, so if its running this cool I want to keep running 3s. But dont wanna ruin my motor either. Ive been around about a year and half in the hobby. And Ive learned alot. From what I know and think the motor isnt workin to hard. The ESC fan doesnt even kick on. So Im thinkin everythings running cool and its not over working itself. Tell me if Im wrong please.

I think your on the right track, as long as it is not running hot it is not working too hard.

Yea, thats what I figured. ESC fan kicks at 150 and it never turns on and with the extremely low motor temps Im guessing everythings good to go. I can tell ya the thing is freakin powerful on 3s! Ive never even got close to opening her up yet.
