Default Castle Sidewinder failure question

My sidewinder has died. It still will function but only provides minimal power to the motor. Plugged in a newer sidewinder into the same car and everything works fine. It was the stock system in my Firestorm and was all stock. I ran a 2s 20c lipo a few times, but mostly kept a 6 or 7 cell NiMH in it. Anything I did wrong or just its time to go? Anything I can do to repair it? Its out of warranty so I guess Castle won't help any.

may be a dumb question, but have you tried to reset yours?

Actually just fixed it today. Just for the heck of it I decided to put a different traxxas 2.4 receiver in the car and that seemed to solve everything. It wroked just like it should and ran all day with no issues (except for my brother running head on into me with his slash at WOT) . I'm not sure why the other system worked in the car with that receiver and this one wouldn't. I did find a place in the antenna wire where the wire was expose, so maybe that had something to do with it.
