Motor and esc problem
#1
I have an sc10 with an 8.5 turn brushless motor withe the stock Esc from the sc10. When pull the trigger it seems that the truck stutters when givin power. Anyone know y this could be happening. Ive tried it both with a lipo and a Nimh and cant figure it out. Thanks

Stock ESC is usually for brushed motors ang not brushless motor. You need to replace your ESC with an ESC designed for brushless motors.

Most RTR ESC's, even the brushless, are set up for a stock/spec motor. It might be that the ESC is not able to handle the demands of a mod motor. I cannot find any specs on that specific esc. If the manual states that it can handle motors of that type, you might consider replacing the sensor wire. If that doesn't get it, try another motor to see if by chance it is the onboard sensor in the motor. Try those tips, then post again.

It might be able to handle it if you add a external BEC (will take a lot of load off the ESC). The internal BEC's draw more juice for the high powered servo's that we use these days than a lot of people think.

Stock BL SC10 esc is sensorless, it's going to cog at start up. The fact that it's an 8.5 might make it worse. I've also heard that some sensored motors don't like to be run on a sensorless esc.
