Default ESC repair

I have a 150amp Hobbywing Xerun speed control that I had to replace the fan in. The fan case was broke keeping the fan from spinning. When I separated upper and lower cases in order to remove the fan from the upper case, I noticed the heat sink compound seemed dried up, it was rubbery and really dirty from all the dust and dirt. I was curious if I could use come heat sink compound used for CPU's?

I picked this up at radioshack http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2216879

Hmmmm definitely looks like it would work to me! People have been using it on the heat sinks on their Xbox360's so I have no doubts it would work on a Hobbywing ESC

Should work great. I have used an older Arctic silver product to mount several heat sinks to motors and to esc. Has always worked fine.

Just be careful removing the old stuff, prob don't need to get it all, just enough to provide a good mounting surface.
