Default help me choose an ESC.

I burned up the ESC in my slash VXL. Wanted some opinions on these ESC's
running 3cell lipo.
First should I return the ESC to traxxas and have them replace it under there program. or get one of these

Hobbyking 100 amp brushless esc

turnagy trackstar 150 amp

or suggest one that you have experience with. Truck will only be used for bashing.

Go with the Sidewinder out of those listed, or the EZRun 60A from Hobbypartz.com

The Aeolian and Hobbyking ESCs are not known for being very reliable, and the Trackstar is so new I am still uneasy about it. I know for sure that the EZRun and Castle ESCs will perform excellent.

my VXL went up in smoke last week. just replaced the ESC with a Mamba Max Pro. still running the Vilineon motor, but the response is much better with the MMP. temps are lower as well. the manual states that it's good to 6S - but a 3S is already pretty brutal. with the v1.30 update, the acceleration is smoother than out of the box firmware.

I have two Mamba Max Pro ESCs and they are awesome. My first brushless combo was a Castle Sidewinder / 5700 and it's still in use and works great. I also have the new Sidewinder V2 6900 combo for my son's touring car but haven't run it yet... if it can really handle 40% more power than the original for only $99 for motor and ESC than that makes it unbeatable.
