Life Batteries

Are there any differences between a Life battery and a Life A123 battery? My Triton charger is capable of charging Life A123 batteries, but does not say anything about Life batteries. I am trying to find a lipo/life pack for my 4pks, but do not want to have to get another charger. Does anyone know of a lipo for the 4pks?
Thanks.
Thanks.

There are no diff electrically, the both have the same max cell voltage and charge the same way. The orig a123s are a lot more robust an don't need the breakin or have the restrictions the other type lifes (some call these prismatic type cells) seem to have. Your Triton will handle either.

I was over at my LHS and saw that Orion has a 2S stick pack LiFe the same size as the standard LiPo. Reading the ROAR rules, I see that LiFe is also accepted as an option in many classes to LiPo.
LiFe is a fantastic cell. Tough as nails, loooong life. high discharge capabilities, etc., but it is only 6.6V. As a great as it is, who is actually racing with a 2S LiFe?

I'm not a racer, but I use them in a few of my MTs. To get around the voltage diff, I run one higher cell counts than I'd run using lipo. If I was running 4S lipo, I'd run 5S life (I use the 2300mah a123 cells), that makes up for teh voltage diff - 16.8v vs 18.0v. Its closer at 5S lipo and 6s life - 21.0v vs 21.6v.
Course if you wnat to run 2S lipo, its too much of a jump to 3S life 8.4v vs 10.8v.
