Default castle sct sidewinder

so i bought the sidewinder sct system two weeks ago and on the first day the esc had a glitch and stopped working and i just got my new one from castle and within the first 20 minutes the motor shaft snapped and then i plugged in my spare castle motor and ten minutes later the esc got real hot and went up in a puff of smoke, this happen to anyone else on here or am i just unlucky, either way it looks like another 2-3 weeks to wait for another motor/esc.

Tell us more about your setup

What car ?

What batteries ?

What speed did you have the car geared for ?

Cheers

Perhaps just bad luck. I had a similar streak of bad luck with 1/8th esc's a while back. Since you mentioned a motor shaft snapping I would suggest taking a look at your drive train. In general Castle motors are known to be very durable.

chances of there being a problem with your setup/car is about 99%

gear mesh, something binding in tranny, bearings in tranny or hubs are seizing.. something..

2 esc's and a broken motor shaft SPELL a problem with your car or mesh way to tight.

3 sidewinder sct systems, with lots of use on all of them and no failures to date..

Agree, need to check the drivetrain, it should roll freely with pinion removed. If it doesn't, something's binding.
