Never dealt with the bigger Tekin esc (have a mini rage setup), but I'm not sure it gets any simplier than Castle's setup with the Castle Link (or Field Card) and PC as far as fine tuning a setup is concerned.
This will give you an idea of what the Castle link is like and the things it can do -

i have both and i would say that the software for the mamba is easier to understand. also if you ever change fro 3s or 4s etc the mamba has auto lipo where the tekin doesn't. some poeple say they don't like auto lipo on mamba cause it can think there is a 5s connected not a 4s therefore take the 4s under the 3.0vpc cutoff. this has never been an issue with mine.

Ah, but without the PC link the Tekin is by far easier to set up.
Also to change battery type all you need to do is tap the mode button until the VC led is lit then the inc button to light 4 leds for a 4 cell, 3 for a 3 cell etc.

They're both quite simple. You just need to calibrate the ESC to the radio, and you're done. Most ESCs will be set at a default setting. I think the only thing you'll need to programe in either ESC is battery type and voltage cutoff. That is if you're running LiPo.
