Tekin RS Pro problems
 

Decided to switch over to Tekin and give them a shot. Hooked it up correctly, turned it on and the dreaded smoke puff. Capacitor was smoking hot. Yes I tried a different receiver, motor, sensor wire, battery is fully charged. Everything worked with the other speed control. Checked the wiring at least a million times just to be sure. Everything is right but the smoke!

Just the cap that smoked ?-sounds like something was touching it shouldn't have- not saying-just saying. I got lucky once, wasnt watching , and solder the B+, B- backwards, and smoked the cap..That speedo still working for me today...:nod: Hope you get it figured out..

Nothing touched. Even tried cutting the cap off to see if it would setup and no luck.

Hmm, I would call Tekin, and get an RA#, their Customer Service is the one of the best--they will stand behind the product if its a bad speedo-which for an RS PRO-is not usually an issue--good luck, sorry to hear you had a problem..

did you solder the cap on wrong?

The blue is NEGATIVE SIDE!

I know how the cap goes on. All wiring was correct.
