Default iCharger or Hyperion??

Ok this is killing me, its worse than being stuck on an island with 2 super models. And before you say it, I don't need both chargers. I am having the hardest time deciding between the two. I will be throwing together a 24A 47V power supply to run the charger so Im definitely looking for D/C power.

Ive been looking at the iCharger 206 and 208B as well as the 700 and 1400 series Hyperion. I cant decide. Ill be charging 4,5 and 6S 5000 and 6500 lipo packs with this charger. I just cant decide.

Anyone??

Get the most from the PS you have and consider the iCharger 306b, its a 30amp, 1000watt charger. Your PS will should run it at full power if iCharger's claims of 90+% charger efficiency are accurate. It has more flexibility than the Hyperions. This will provide the most from your PS and give you 10more amps for max charge rate. Important if you have lipos that are high C charge capable or want to do any parallel charging.

Just curious, but what PS do you have, I'm looking for a 1000+watt one myself.

Thanks for the reply Duster. Looking at pricing, the 306 is only about $30-$35 more for twice the power. That's a good idea. And in reading over the 208B specs, those seem to be more adjustable also.

And as for the power supply. I ordered 2 HP ESP 135s for $54 shipped. They are 12v server power supplies I'm going to wire in series. I got the info from this guy

You can't beat the price it can be done for. I have all the wires and connector. I just need the power supplies to come in.

if you want a nice lipo only charger look at the cellpro10s.

Agree, I know him from RCG, I hope you don't mind fan noise, that's the only complaints I've seen on that supply. Electrically, it'll do exactly what you expect of it.

I have one 12v PS from FeatherMerchant that's his more expensive server supply, but you can't tell if the fan is even running. I baby sit my lipos when charging and didn't want a loud fan. I just need to get the mate to mine and wire them. Thanks for the info!

I don't trust Lipos enough to leave them alone while charging either. Ill probably mainly be using this at the track. Noise isn't that big of a deal, also if I walk away from it for a minute, Ill be reminded its running by hearing the fans, and not totally ignore it if the phone rings. Also if they get too annoying for me, hes got a fan mod how to also. If its that bad i will do that. I mean for 1000 watt ps. If you put it in a decent case, it wont even be an eye sore. And it can be done for under $75 24V 47A. I mean thats a pretty decent PS.

I'm also looking at either the 306B or 3010B for my next charger. I have loved my 106B+ but in anticipation of ever increasing battery tech and HV systems I want to upgrade. Right now I only plan to be charging 4-6S too, but the way I see it why not go for the 3010B and have the higher cell capacity there in case you need it, since it only costs a little bit more. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Default OMG!

I don't ever charge anything more than 5amps on 2s, but I feel the need to build that PS. I need one.
