Default Soldering station temp help

So I got xytronic LF-7000 soldering/desoldering station. It works great, but I don't quite understand the the numbers on the dials. I know on the lowest setting, the tip is right around 150F. But looking at the dial, those number don't convert to any temp numbers that I am aware of. I looked through the manual with no indications. Any help?

For regular 60/40 lead free solder you want your tip around 700 degrees, I would try the upper end of green on that station.

Ok, but what do these numbers mean around the dial?

Only thing that makes sense is the small numbers on the inside is the F x100 scale so 7 = 700F. The outer numbers form the C x10 scale, 35 = 350C.

But something's not right - 350C is 662F and 35 is shown between 5 and closer to 6 on what should be the F scale, implying that 350C would be less than 600F which isn't correct. One scale may be close and the other is wrong. Which is which is something to figure out.

IIRC my Hakko936 said the scale required calibration. This is prob no diff.

I was thinkging the same thing Duster. But just like you, after looking at both scales and multiplying by 10 and 100, they were not to scale of each other.

I looked around online for other temps scale such as K and one other, but none seemed to relate to one another properly.

Now that I look at the photo better, it does say CX10 and FX100. That has to mean C X 10 and F X 100. I guess it's just off.

Thanks.

But one set of numbers are single digits and the other set are all 2 digit numbers, so given the multipliers, you know which scale has to be which. 70C is way too low of a temp for a soldering iron, that has to be 700F which makes more sense.

If the station came from a comuntry using Celius, maybe that scale is right? They just did the C to F conversion wrong...?
