Icharger 106b+

I got a balance board for it and it doesn't seem to want to work correctly. I plugged the board onto the 6S port and plugged the battery into the 2S port. When I go to charge it it says the balance port is not connected.

I just wanted to be able to extend the balance lead so I don't have the battery sitting so close to the charger. Am I doing something wrong or do I need something different?

BTW I love the charger incase anyone else is considering one.

I don't have that charger but what i do with mine is just order a 12 long balance cable and it plugs into charger and your battery pack in the end and that's that makes it simple so you can put the lipos in a lipo sack when charging.
I got mine from hobbyking but you can get them here :

So everything works when you plug directly into the balance port on the side of the charger?

There is a connection sequence advised with these chargers, are you following that using the adapter board?

The 106 won't work with a board. If you program in a 2S it expects the battery tap to be in the 2S position, not in the 6S.

Do what I did and either buy a ready made extension from cheap-batteries or somewhere else or make one from a male and female lead (i bought those from.A Main).

I found this same issue when I tried to use the balance board with my 106B+

Not sure if it's something that can be fixed (or maybe has been fixed?) with a firmware update, but I haven't updated my firmware since I bought it. Might be worth a try.

Don't know first hand, but this is an iCharger dealer and says it will work, mentions the 106b+ specifically -

Email him and find out for sure.

Thanks everyone. I guess I will make extensions for what I need to charge with. It always seems like there are new hoops to jump through!

Works fine with the correct breakout board

Icharger board plugged into the 6s slot will allow any battery to be plugged in (or combination of batteries)

Which board are you trying to use ?

Cheers

If your anal enough, and have enough time and a good soldering iron you can make your own extensions. I had a box of cat5 cable, cut the existing balancer lead, and added about 12"-16" to its length.. :weird:

This is the board I have: http://www.progressiverc.com/index.p...emart&Itemid=1

It is definitely the correct cable for the 106B+ (the one I have, not the one in the pic) and plugged into the 6S balance port.

I emailed David from Progressive RC so I'll post back if he has any input on the issue.

That board should work fine

What brand of batteries are you trying to connect ?

Cheers

Since it says that board is supposed to work with teh 106b+ charger, there may be something going on that Junsi hasn't seen before. Maybe its the slot on the board being used since these are setup for parallel and series charging. Thats one I use with my 3010b and I've not had any probs.

I'd trust David to be on top of it though.

I don't have any problems balancing a 2s off of the 6s port....

crusey_aus 12-29-2010 12:48 PM

Which 2s slot are you trying to plug into ?

If using a single battery you need to put it in the right hand slot with the negative lead as marked

Cheers
