Im looking for fast digital servos that wont break the bank!
I have a Hitec HS5625MG as a steering servo, but I feel it is a bit too slow and over-powering for my needs - is there something faster and not quite as powerful out there?
Ive heard of the Savox servos, are they any good?
Are there servos Im after that exist, or would I just have to fork-out the cash for them?

a while ago i got a blue bird servo off of hobbyking.com couldn't be more happy turns in .08sec and puts out like 119trq. i race buggy but im sure you could find a servo for any application.

I agree, check out Hobbyking servos. They have so many you may have to look for awhile to find the specs you want. I bought one to replace a broken Hitec and after using it for a few weeks was so impressed I ordered 4 more to replace all of my Hitecs. All of them have at least a few hours use so far and no problems.

I currently have the Savox SC-1251MG Low Profile servo in the basket, and it seems fairly decent - 0.09 travel time and 125 oz-in of torque, so its fast and powerful as well as being LP. Ill definitely check out the Hobbyking servos section. Thanks for that, ill post back with what I find.

We have a couple of them... and they rock... you could get three of these for one of those Savox servos... when you go to the HK webpage sit on the page for a couple minutes and it will come up with a lower price for the servo...

WOW!! I think I might just get 3xBlue Bird BMS-631 servos! 0.08 travel time and 89 oz-in of torque! Plenty of power and speed for both throttle and steering! If it isnt enough power, i guess id just put in the Hitec, but I doubt that would happen!

Have one in my hyper 10sc and love it.. Gonna pick up couple for the others and have a xtra... But indeed great servo for the price..

Ive decided that I will get the Blue Bird BMS-955DMG and BMS-990DMG Low profile servos, 955 being the throttle and the 990 as the steering! Great speed, more than enough torque and they dont cost more than 100 each!!!

The answer to your question depends on what the application is. If you are racing onroad pan or touring cars I would say 89oz torque is enough. If you are doing anything offroad, especially 1/8 you will need roughly 200oz for steering. Recommended servos- Savox 1267MG, Savox 1256TG Hitec 7940 etc...
